Welcome to Kendal Hostel

Kendal Hostel is situated in the historic market town of Kendal, with close proximity to the Lake District National Park. Our accommodation is arranged over 4 floors in our former Georgian town house.

Ideal for large groups up to 42 guests over 13 bedrooms. The hostel is solely self-catering. Being just on the edge of the Lake district National Park in Cumbria.

We are easily accessible by car as Kendal is just off Junction 36 of the M6 motorway and also by train as Kendal has its own train station as well as Oxenholme, The Lake district only 5 min train journey from Kendal Station.

The hostel is situated in front of the well known Brewery Arts Centre with the front of the hostel leading onto Highgate that is only 200 yards from Kendal town centre. It is a fantastic base from which to explore the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.

Kendal itself has many attractions to keep all the family entertained, including the castle ruins, Kendal Museum (which is FREE), Abbot Hall Art Gallery and many more. A short drive/bus or train ride will take you to the popular destination of Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere where they have the Windermere Lake Cruises and also the famous Beatrix Potter exhibition.

As the Hostel is self catering guests are welcome to use the kitchen, living room, dining room and also wash facilities. Only a short walk away is
a range of restaurant’s such as well known Wetherspoons, Thai and other cuisines.

We also have a secure bike shed and drying room that guests are welcome to use free of charge.

We also take dogs in certain rooms. Please advise when booking.
